Benchmark Senior Living Named Among Healthiest and Best Employers

It's all about treating workers well, giving them a voice, and encouraging them to have some fun while they are at it.

Benchmark Senior Living is pleased to announce their selection by the Boston Business Journal as one of Boston’s Healthiest Employers of 2016. The Healthiest Employer awards program recognizes organizations that are committed to creating a healthy workplace and who build health consciousness into the culture of their companies.

The Healthiest Employer award follows closely on the heels of The Boston Globe naming Benchmark Senior Living an admired employer in its Top Places to Work ranking. The Top Places award praised Benchmark and all the winners for “treating workers well, giving them a voice, and encouraging them to have some fun while they’re at it.” The Boston Globe’s honor is based on a survey of the people who know the company the best—the employees.

Since opening in 1997, Benchmark Senior Living has advocated active and healthy lifestyles for its associates. The company provides coaching and resources that focus on self-management skills, health, and prevention behaviors for changing unhealthy habits and controlling chronic health conditions. Other wellness benefits include adoption assistance, caretaker services, employee and family assistance, and discounts on many everyday purchases.

Within the company’s Waltham home office, associates take full advantage of all wellness programs available, including the fitness room, wellness room, associate appreciation events, team fundraisers, and even training together for athletic competitions. Additionally, across Benchmark’s 51 senior living communities, the company supports associates in a wide range of areas, including health, finances, family support, and discounts. Throughout the company, Benchmark reinforces the benefits of health and wellness through trainings, events, competitions, and Benchmark’s annual associate survey.
