Wellesley Traffic Nightmare: Crash Causes 6-Hour Delay
A box truck and a car crashed on Route 128, causing severe delays in Wellesley and beyond.
A box truck was upended over a median during a crash on Route 128 in Wellesley Tuesday afternoon, causing nightmarish traffic delays.
The crash happened near Route 9 at about 3:30 p.m. A car was also involved and its front end was crushed under the truck. No one was hurt, police said.
Two lanes of traffic were closed. State Police said one lane of the highway will be closed for up to six hours so crews can clean up the scene. There were heavy traffic delays in all directions.

At 4 p.m., Route 9 east was backed up beyond Cedar Street.
“This backup is expected to get larger,” Wellesley police said in a statement.
