On Tuesday, October 27th, photographer Alan Brown explores the creative evolution of Intentional Camera Movement (ICM). Gateway Camera Club invites you to join us for Alan’s ‘moving’ presentation at 7:00pm at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 3 Maple Street, Framingham, MA.

Alan will trace ICM from its traditional experimental roots to more refined and deliberate approaches. Drawing on years of practice and experimentation, he will demonstrate how ICM can move beyond chance-based results to become a mindful and controlled creative process.

Alan said, “Photography, for me, is about exploration rather than rules, where creativity is guided by intention rather than convention.”

Illustrated with examples from Alan’s own work, the presentation encourages photographers of all levels to slow down, observe more carefully, and embrace a more conscious approach to creating images through camera movement.

You can learn more about Alan’s work at <a href="https://www.alanbrownphotography.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.alanbrownphotography.com/</a>

Join as our guest on November 3rd
at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 3 Maple Street, Framingham. Doors open at 7PM.

Get ready to see still life and flowers in a whole new light!

Picture-maker Polina Plotnikova takes a classic, traditional subject and turns it on its head as she explores unconventional techniques that bring illusion, reflection, shadow, and movement into the frame.

Expect plenty of image-based case studies breaking down exactly how each technique works, alongside behind-the-scenes photos and videos so you can see the setups in action. If you love the idea of creating something surprising and painterly straight out of the camera, this one’s for you.

Polina is a full-time photographer and a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society with many national and international awards. Her favorite photographic subjects are flower portraiture and still life.

Be sure to check us out at <a href="https://www.gatewaycameraclub.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Gateway Camera Club</a>.

The Wellesley Society of Artists in partnership with the Wellesley Free Library is proud to announce a painting demonstration with artist Don Demers, "The Breaking Sea” on November 8th at 1:30pm. The demo will include the presentation of a small sketch from which he will work into a 16”x 24” oil painting. The scene will portray waves breaking on a shoreline. He is a master at painting the elusive nature of the ocean.
