are delighted to be holding this event in celebration of another successful season at WTP and a
culmination of five wonderful years!”
WTP began with a cast of 18 students in Seussical, the Musical in the summer of 2012 and has now
enrolled more than 2,100 students and produced more than 36 productions. During that time, WTP has
provided thousands of dollars in need based tuition scholarships to families in Wellesley and the
surrounding communities. Staying true to its mission, WTP has employed professional teaching artists
from the greater Boston area to support our students and create art in Wellesley. Most importantly, WTP
has become an environment for students to thrive in and make a community.
In keeping with their community outreach mission, Wellesley Theatre Project students, known as Citizen
Artists, are frequently found performing at the Wellesley Council on Aging, Boys and Girls Club of South
Boston, Faneuil Hall, as well as the Wellesley Free Library, and Wellesley events like the Wellesley
Wonderful Weekend Parade.
Wellesley Theatre Project is an arts academy and a Wellesley nonprofit devoted to providing students
(PreK - 12th Grade) with the opportunity to study and experience theatre and performing arts through
year round classes, staged productions, workshops and summer camps.
Registration is open for WTP’s 2017 Summer Camps. Sessions include three production camps geared for
students between 2nd and 12th grade in addition to one week Theatre Arts camps for Pre K-12th grade.
The production camps are: The Lion King, Kids (Grades 2-8), Peter Pan (Grades 2-12), and Chicago
(Grades 9-12).
