Check Fraud And 3 DUI Charges In Wellesley

November 8:

6:45 p.m. - Police were called to Weston Road after someone called reporting someone driving erratically. The caller told police the car struck the sidewalk several times before turning onto Worcester Street.

The driver was pulled over. David Kelley, 59, of Whitman was charged with driving under the influence and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Officer Keenan said he smelled alcohol on Kelley, and that his eyes were glassy and bloodshot. Keenan said he saw empty nip bottles and an open Bud Light in the van.

Police said Kelley agreed to take a field sobriety test, he failed. Kelley was taken into custody and was released on $200 bail.

November 10:

2:55 p.m. - Police arrested Ryan Moody, 21, of Bayonne, New Jersey after police said he tried to cash a fraudulent check at a bank on Linden Street.

According to police, Moody went to the bank and tried cashing a check issued by a company in Martinsburg, PA. A bank employee said said he reviewed the account account and noticed it was flagged earlier that day because of another attempt at cashing a fraudulent check at a separate branch.

Officer Shore said he spoke with Moody, who he said told him he did some work for the owner of the Pennsylvania company. According to Shore, Moody could not provide an address for where he completed work.

Shore said he told Moody he didn't think he was being honest. He said he knew the check was fraudulent and asked Moody how much he was being paid to cash the check. Moody admitted to Shore he was paid $100 to cash the check, according to police.

Police said Shore kept asking Moody more questions, and that eh eventually contradicted his previous story. He was taken into custody and later released on $500 bail.

November 11:

4:13 a.m. - Police charged Alan Kan, 30, of South Boston with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of class B drugs, and resisting arrest, and simple assault.

Police received a call that a suspicious car was running with the driver's side door open on Louis Drive. When Officer Wagner approached the car, he said he smelled alcohol on Kane.

Kane agreed to a field sobriety test, but failed. While searching Kane's car, police said they found an empty can of Guinness beer and an envelope containing amphetamine and dextroamphetamine tablets.

After resisting arrest, police took Kane into custody. he was later released on personal recognizance.

10:30 p.m. - Moises Flores, 36, of Worcester was charged with driving under the influence after police said they pulled him over for multiple lane violations and speeding.

According to Officer DeBernardi who pulled over Flores on Worcester Street, Flores was having trouble driving in one lane and was going 65 mph in a 50 mph zone. When DeBernardi approached the car he said he smelled alcohol on Flores and noticed his eyes were bloodshot.

Police said Flores agreed to a field sobriety test, but failed. He was taken into custody and later released on $200 bail.
