The Davis Museum to Host Third Annual Outdoor Summer Film Series

Free Fun Fridays Joins the Davis Summer Lineup

This summer, the Davis Museum at Wellesley College will host its third-annual outdoor film series, which will present a mix of original, new, and remastered musicals. The Summer Film Series 2018 includes four family-friendly films that feature beloved music in the story: From an adventure to a magical land, to New York City antics, to a nanny that highlights the importance of having fun as a family, the storylines will appeal to visitors of all ages. The Davis Museum will also host its first Free Fun Fridays event on Friday, August 3, an annual statewide cultural event hosted by the Highland Street Foundation.

“We invite the public to attend our free summer events and enjoy all the Davis has to offer,” said Arthurina Fears, Manager of Museum Education and Programs. “The summer brings us new opportunities to accommodate the local community on and off campus.”

The films will be projected on the outside of the Davis Museum building. Visitors are welcome to arrive as early as 7 p.m. for tours of the permanent collection inside the Davis, enjoy art-making activities for all ages at 7:30 on the Davis Plaza, and get settled into their viewing spot before the movie begins at sundown. At all screenings, there will be free popcorn and ice cream available as well as beer and cider for adults.
