The Davis Museum Hosts Family Day on April 28

Museum Provides Educational Fun During Family Day: Photos and Fragments

Family members of all ages are invited to Family Day: Photos and Fragments on Saturday, April 28, 11 a.m. through 3 p.m. at the Davis Museum at Wellesley College. This free event includes activities with inspiration drawn from current exhibitions, Fragment: A Museum’s Midcentury Legacy and Clarence H. White and His World: The Art and Craft of Photography, 1895-1925.

During Family Day, visitors can participate in treasure hunts in the galleries, storytime, creation of sun prints, a photography demonstration with Wellesley students, a museum tour, and more. “Family Day is a great way for families to enjoy viewing and creating art together and to help children understand where many museum objects originate,” says Arthurina Fears, Manager of Museum Education and Programs. “During Photos and Fragments, we hope to introduce children to photography and demonstrate how its technology has evolved in the last century.”
