Annual Meet the Need Dinner Honors Reverend John J. Connelly of St. John the Evangelist Parish, Wellesley Hills

The Elizabeth Seton Residence of Wellesley Hills is pleased to announce they will be honoring Father John J. Connelly of St. John the Evangelist parish in Wellesley Hills at their Annual Meet the Need Dinner on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Wellesley Country Club.

Fr. Connelly, a long-time supporter of the Elizabeth Seton Residence was born and raised at St. Peter’s parish in Dorchester. He attended the Boston Latin School and Boston College before entering the US Army and serving in World War II. Ordained in 1950, he went on to complete his graduate studies in Rome, Italy and then embarked on a teaching career that spanned over three decades. In 1983 Fr. Connelly was called to serve at the Sacred Heart parish in Newton where he was the beloved Pastor for thirty years until his retirement in 2013. He is now a priest in residence at St. John the Evangelist in Wellesley Hills.

The Elizabeth Seton Residence welcomes the opportunity to recognize Fr. Connelly for his outstanding service to the shared communities of Newton, Wellesley and the Elizabeth Seton Residence.

Local real estate professional and former television personality Teri Adler will emcee the event with entertainment provided by the popular Bo Winiker Jazz Trio. The program for the evening will include a cocktail hour, silent auction, dinner, raffle prizes and more.
