NEU/HSA (The New England Unit of the Herb Society)

invites members and other plant lovers  to a program entitled:
 'Beyond the Avocado' - (Don't Throw it, Grow it!)

 Home to The Massachusetts Horticultural Society
 
 Speaker: Deb Peterson
 Time: 10:00 AM - Noon
 Cost: $5.00 for non-members of NEU/HSA

 'Beyond the Avocado' or how to grow exotic indoor plants from their pits!
 (Don't Throw it, Grow it!)
 Some of the plants reviewed for growing indoors include:

 papaya, tamarind, taro, ginger and fenugreek.
 Each of the plants requires a slightly different technique to germinate.

 *About Deb Peterson*
 Deborah Peterson, a founder of the Rare Pit & Plant Council and
 Newsletter editor of The Pits, has contributed to
 the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Handbooks and lectured extensively on
 gardening.

Deborah is the proprietor of Landmark Landscaping and has designed many
 gardens and private parks in NYC and Massachusetts.

Deb has been a member of the Herb Society of America since 1986 and a
member of the New England Unit (NEU) since 1998.

 For the adventurous, there may be an excursion to one of the most
 interesting Asian groceries in Massachusetts after the talk, and a dim
 sum lunch.
