Book Launch For New Holiday Classic "The Lighthouse Santa"

Just in time for the holidays, award-winning local author, Sara Hoagland Hunter, and illustrator, Julia Miner, will be coming to Wellesley Books to launch their newest book, The Lighthouse Santa -- destined to be a Christmas classic.  They'll be reading their Christmas tale based on the actual flights of Edward Rowe Snow, who for more than 40 years dropped Christmas presents to the children living in New England's lighthouses. Come learn how the book was made and learn how to draw your own lighthouse! Join in the holiday fun and pick up a jointly signed picture book for family and friends -- an heirloom holiday gift you'll return to year after year! Cookies will be served!

ABOUT THE BOOK
Based on the real Christmas flights of Edward Rowe Snow, hero to lighthouse children for almost fifty years, The Lighthouse Santa is the story of seven year old Kate, who waits at her lonely Nantucket lighthouse for this year's Christmas present. Her brother says Mr. Snow will not be able to fly because of the storm at sea. But Kate never loses hope that the Lighthouse Santa will arrive to grant her mystery wish.

Julia Miner lives in nearby Lincoln and is often in Wellesley Books between carpools to Dana Hall with her daughter Katelyn.  An award-winning architect and illustrator, Julia has always loved reading, painting, and Nantucket! THE LIGHTHOUSE SANTA is her third book for children.
