Boundary Line: Jazz and World Music Faculty Concert

Reception to follow

“It is becoming increasingly difficult to decide where jazz starts or where it stops, where Tin Pan Alley begins and jazz ends, or even where the border lies between classical music and jazz. I feel there is no boundary line.”  —Duke Ellington

A cherished annual event, this year’s Jazz and World Music faculty concert will explore music that defies the boundary lines between genres.   Through improvisation, the walls between jazz, pop, world music, and classical composition will disappear. Performers include: Kris Adams, voice; Glorianne Collver-Jacobson, guitar; Mark Henry, bass; Greg Hopkins, trumpet; Doug Johnson, piano; Steve Langone, drums; Lance Martin, flute; Cercie Miller, saxophones; Kera Washington, percussion and voice; and Paula Zeitlin, violin.
