COA-Abracadabra, Become a Magician

Gil Stubbs has been doing magic shows ever since he retired twenty one years ago from his field of engineering in the space fi eld. In addition to doing shows, he has written many articles on magic for other magicians, edited a magician's newsletter, and recently has conducted two seminars on magic for students at Wellesley High and two workshops on magic for Wellesley children.

We are happy to have Gil teach a three-session course in magic at the Council on Aging. He will show you that with only a very small investment in time anyone can acquire a good repertoire in magic to entertain friends, children and grandchildren. You will see that expensive apparatus is not required, but that impressive feats of magic can be done with everyday objects. Included in the course is magic with cards, coins, dollar bills, string, rope, rubber bands, pens, paper clips, tableware, napkins and handkerchiefs

Gil provides a set of notes to each student in which he reviews the tricks he teaches. In these notes he will also recommend specific tricks and easy sleight of hand techniques for future study that are described in three inexpensive paperbacks, available online from Amazon.com and in inexpensive DVDs for beginners that are available at nearby magic shops.
