Davis Bates returns to the Library Celebrating the Season: Stories and Songs for the Holidays. Starting at 10:30 a.m., drop in to enjoy this Family Concert of stories and songs exploring the diverse cultural traditions of Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza and the Winter Solstice.
Davis will share folktales from around the world, regional oral history narratives, and holiday stories from his own family. Hear about how a goat helped celebrate Hanukkah and how a teacher in a one-roomed schoolhouse in Western MA saved Santa Claus' life. There will be plenty of sing-along songs, traditional and not-so-traditional carols, a dancing wooden dog and even a short lesson in how to play the spoons.
This program is generously supported by the Friends of the Wellesley Free Libraries.
