Hostas: the Practically Perfect Perennial

Featuring Mary Arnberg - Massachusetts Master Gardener Association

Retired junior high teacher and still active gardener, Mary Arnberg is very pleased to have been invited to speak about her favourite perennial- how to grow them well, how to find good ones, hosta problems ,and of course, some of those "must have hostas" for every garden.

Mary now focuses on her Hosta collection, which numbers over 500 different plants, as well as over 60 various shrubs on a 1/3rd acre property.

Mary was co-president of the New England Hosta Society and is a Senior Hosta Judge. She has been a Master Gardener since 2002, reaching Lifetime status in 2011. She still loves the teaching aspect of gardening, hates any manual labour, and is trying to eliminate as much of her lawn as possible by planting more shrubs, hostas, and the occasional dwarf conifer.

Presentations will begin at 7pm and go until all questions are answered. The classes are priced at $12 for members and $15 for non-members unless otherwise indicated. There is no need to pre-register and you may pay at the class.
