Professional Series: Jennifer Frautschi, Violin

Jennifer Frautschi, recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant for talented instrumentalists, has gained acclaim as an adventurous violinist with a wide-ranging repertoire. She has created a sensation with appearances as soloist with Pierre Boulez and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Christoph Eschenbach and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at the Ravinia Festival, at Wigmore Hall, and Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival. Described as “the real thing” by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Frautschi’s performance at Wellesley will include Clara Schumann’s Three Romances, Op. 22, Brahms’s Sonatensatz for Violin and Piano, and Robert Schumann’s Sonata No. 2 in D Minor.

The Chamber Music Society at Wellesley College will open Frautschi’s concert with a 15-minute performance.
