Special Election for DPW Building Addition Project

A Special Election, to seek voter approval of a debt exclusion to fund the debt service for the proposed DPW Operations Office addition, will occur on WEDNESDAY May 18, 2011.

The text of the question is:

Shall the Town of Wellesley be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and one-half, so-called, the amounts required to pay for the bonds issued in order to fund the plans and specifications, construction, remodeling, equipping and furnishing of a new Department of Public Works office facility at 20 Municipal Way?

ABSENTEE VOTING

  • Voters who will be absent from Wellesley on election day or are physically unable to go to the polls may apply for an absentee ballot for the MAY 18, 2011 special election. (Early voting and convenience voting are not permitted in Massachusetts)
  • Absentee ballots may be obtained upon written request, signed by the voter of a family member OR voters may vote in person at Town Hall.
  • Voters who qualify for absentee ballots may vote in person at the office of the Town Clerk beginning April 19, 2011. Hours are 8 am - 5 pm.
  • Absentee ballots cannot be hand carried to voters who are not able to come to Town Hall, but must be mailed by the Town Clerk’s office.
  • The last time to apply for absentee voting for this election is TUESDAY, May 17, 2011 at NOON.

All absentee ballots must be returned to the Town Clerk by the close of the polls on election day. Absentee ballots are tabulated on election day at each precinct.
