Workshop: "Supporting Siblings of Children with Special Needs."

The Wellesley Parent Advisory Council (PAC) presents "Supporting Siblings of Children with Special Needs."

What happens to siblings when there’s a child with special needs? Family life changes dramatically and the needs of the siblings can be overshadowed by the intensive focus on the child with the most obvious physical, mental, or emotional needs. More often than not, brothers and sisters spend more time with the child in the family who has special needs than anyone else. Come learn strategies to support siblings.  Presenters: Selene Aguayo-Gisholt and Olivia von Ferstel, who run sibling support groups at Community Therapeutic Day School.   March 13, 2012. 7:00 – 9:00 pm, Wellesley Middle School Library.  The Wellesley PAC is a district-wide, independent organization of parents and caregivers of children in Wellesley working together to enhance the education of students who learn differently.
