Greetings & Salutations to the Weekend!!!!!

Timing is everything!  Yes, reversecommuter got to take camel selfies and shop at Chanel in Dubai in April, but I completely botched the opportunity to attend the 2014 Chanel Cruise Collection held in Dubai on May 13th.  

The CHA CHA appreciative Dubai audience was appropriately quilted, double C jewelry and bel adorn, and there were also a few black abayas, scarved heads (Chanel scarves obvi!), and some Keffiyehs scattered amongst the audience sitting upon pillows on the ground of the most glamorous tent ever created complete with indoor palm trees and shishas!

The fashion seemed perfectly tailored for the U.A.E. crowd, with veils, Chanel's diamond encrusted crescent moon hair clips, gold lamè pants, the obligatory fabulous tweed, pearl dotted quilted bags and sunglasses and oodles of Kurta pajama inspired skinny pants.

Chanel's 2014 Cruise collection (available in October fyi!), went far beyond beautiful - it was like watching a magical performance of Alladin meets Lawrence of Arabia, complete with the best transe filled soundtrack. King Karl said that Dubai is "…interesting and exciting…the modern thought of the world... mix of the old world and the new world...it is the 21st Century Chanel.  Dubai is the home of the tallest buildings in the world, it was time for an Oriental revival."  BRAVO KING KARL!!

Rumor on the money street is that there may be a takeover in the works for Lululemon.  The yoga pant machine has been suffering with low stock price, bumbling ex-CEO quotes insulting the curvaceous qualities of Lulu's army of size 12+ devotees, and a couple of falsely labelled bamboo/not-bamboo pants headlines.  

Some potential interested parties include NIKE, V.F. (as in Splendid, Ella Moss, Wrangler…) and even Columbia Sportswear.    Goes without saying this fashion blogger is doing a happy dance over the potential demise of the company responsible for the SINGLE WORST fashion trend to fall upon our society!  Toodles everyday lazy uniform of yoga pants, hello sportswear for sports!
