FORMER WELLESLEY MINISTER TO APPEAR ON FRAMINGHAM/ASHLAND BALLOT FOR STATE REP.

7th Middlesex District

BOSTON—Jack Patrick Lewis (D – Framingham), one of the candidates seeking Rep. Tom Sannicandro’s soon to be vacated state representative seat in the 7th Middlesex District, has officially secured the necessary number of nomination signatures to be in the district’s September 8th Democratic Primary.

“I am running to be the state representative for Ashland and Framingham,” Lewis said, “because our towns deserve to be represented by someone who will be a full-time advocate for the needs of our families, schools, and communities. I bring unique experiences as a local parent, non-profit leader, and ordained minister that I believe will serve our district well at the State House.”

Lewis previously served as the assistant minister at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Wellesley Hills, where he provided ministerial oversight to the congregation’s social justice and education programs. He currently serves as the executive director of OUT MetroWest, a Framingham-based non-profit for LGBTQ teens he helped to create. He is also an active member of the Framingham Democratic Town Committee.

“I have had the honor of working closely with Jack Lewis for over five years,” Marie Caradonna, an Ashland resident noted, “and he stands for everything a responsible legislator should stand for. He believes government should be responsible to the constituents, he understand the needs of workers, children, families, and seniors. He directs a non-profit, so he is fiscally astute and understands the needs of businesses. What I particularly am impressed with is his ability to understand both the immediate concerns of our community and his ability to plan for long-term development.”

Jack and his spouse live in Framingham with their six-year-old son.

“I am excited to be officially on the ballot for the September 8th Democratic primary,” Jack continued, “I look forward to spending time over the next four months speaking with the residents of Ashland and Framingham about the issues that face our communities and the future of our Commonwealth.”
