Glamour Girls Wow Crowd At Summer Concert
Oldies and goodies play for families on Town Green.
The Glamour Girls played at Wellesley Town Green Wednesday night to a big crowd.
Couples and families set up blankets and lawn chairs on the hill, and children ran and danced at the bottom, in front of the band as it played retro pop and rock. Near the road, the Wellesley Rotary Club had set up a concession table, selling popcorn, hotdogs, ice cream and soda. Business was steady, and congenial. Manning the table were Rotary Club members Dick Carls, Paul McDonald, Ray Reynolds, Joe Flemming and Jack Woodacre.
The concert was part of the Recreation Department's summer concert series, which schedules local performances at Town Hall every Wednesday night. Recreation Director Jan Kaseta was on hand, passing out fliers for the department while the band played.

Among the families getting a flier was Cathy Bueker and her son, Michael. "We are having a great time," she said.
The next and last concert of the summer is Aug. 11, with the The John Penny Band (Country & Western).
