How You Think the Town Should Help Wellesley Square

Wellesley Square appears to be on the up and up lately. Shops have moved in to vacant spaces, and of places where there is still a vacancy.

Though, it’s still an uphill climb for the downtown area.

We at Wellesley Patch, and have received many comments. Here are a few:

MJ: PS Wellesley Square has FAR more charm than Linden Street. It doesn't look old! It looks New England! If it were easier to shop W.S., I'd be there always.

Ivy: Parking is a major problem. The economy is down. Linden Square is competition. However, I love Wellesley Square. Sad to see good stores leaving. Too bad the retail and restaurant area cannot be blocked off and turned into a walking mini mall with parking all around. I have seen this done in various other cities.

Chas Boodro: The major differences between Wellesley SQ and Linden SQ is parking and the type of shopping offrered! inden SQ draws people for primary shopping for food and pharmacy that people must do rather than the greater variety of more eclectic stores and restaurants. If there was more free and convenient parking people would more likey drop by to browse. Pay to park is killing the square.
