It is an understatement to say that technology has changed how people live, work and interact. Social software has created an unprecedented channel to connect, learn and collaborate with peers, friends and extended networks of connections. Advances in data and tools to collect this information have revealed facts and trends that went previously undiscovered because of the lack of tools to really analyze important data in volume. However, many of these advances have been focused in the consumer world — with the power of potentially affecting people’s lives outside of work disproportionately to how those same technologies can have an impact on their lives as members of a workplace community.
That’s changing fast: more and more companies are recognizing not only the possibility but imperative to use the power of social, video and analytics within the workplace to have an impact on employee engagement, team effectiveness and productivity.
This session will include a discussion of the important trends that every business professional responsible for people management within an organization should know about. Bowley, Munzer and guests will discuss the trends that are affecting how people work now, trends and changes to expect over the next five years, and what people can do now to consider impact on their organizations. As an example of the new cutting edge technologies, Munzer will share examples of his team’s persona-based designs that are fundamentally changing how managers and employees experience HR in the workplace. Bowley and Munzer will be available to answer questions and share their experiences collaborating with some of the leading companies in our area and globally.
