Ice-Cream for All at Sprague Social
The annual school year kick-off served as a welcome for new principal.
This year's annual ice-cream social at Sprague Elementary School served a double purpose. Not only was it a chance for the community to get together after a long summer vacation, but it was a welcome to Dr. Steve Goodwin, the new principal who has brought new energy to the school.
Goodwin brought his wife and two daughters to the event, which featured lots of ice cream and plenty of running around the two playgrounds and games of soccer and football on the fields.
"I can't tell you all the support I've felt since I arrived, and certainly my wife Teri and kids have felt it as well," Goodwin said after he and his family were presented with T-shirts and vests from the Sprague Spirit Shop.

PTO Social Committee Co-Chairwoman Jen Bowman said the ice-cream was supplied at a discount from White Mountain Creamery, which also donated cones, sprinkles, cups and spoons for the event, which has become an annual tradition at the eight-year-old school.
