Joshua Gary Norman for Republican State Committee Man

Josh Norman announces his candidacy to serve as your next Republican State Committeeman in Newton, Brookline and Wellesley (Pcts. A, C-E, H)

Fellow Newton, Brookline and Wellesley Republicans and Independent Voters:

My name is Joshua Gary Norman and I am formally announcing my campaign to serve as your next Massachusetts Republican State Committee Man from the First Middlesex & Norfolk District - Newton, Brookline and Wellesley (Pcts. A, C-E, H).

I want to heal the divisive strife plaguing the Republican party, which has contributed to its weak presence in Massachusetts. In 1954, there were 743,736 registered Republican voters in Massachusetts, accounting for 29.5% of Massachusetts’s voting population. As of February 2015, there were 445,900 registered Republican voters in Massachusetts, accounting for less than 11% of Massachusetts’s voting population. I am a man of honesty and integrity and I will work to restore unity and rebuild the Republican Party by promoting principles and integrity in our party’s processes and operations.

I recently signed the Massachusetts Republican Assembly’s Real Republican Reform pledge reiterating my commitment to conservative principles (specifically supporting the 2014 MassGOP platform, supporting the 2nd Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms and opposing illegal immigration) and the following grassroots conservative practices:

· That I will work to rebuild the grassroots of the party because the grassroots are a vital part of the GOP that’s been neglected for too long.

· That I will recruit candidates for offices up and down the ticket in my district, and not focus my volunteer time exclusively on the top of the ticket.

· That I will work to reform the process of chartering organizations, to restore the charter for the Massachusetts Federation of Republican Women.

· That I will use my position as State Committee person to raise funds for local Republican candidates for office.

· That I will support and demand transparency and fairness in the election of delegates to the National Convention at the upcoming regional caucuses, as well as the election of party officers, state committee members, and RTC leadership.

· That I will be an independent vote on the state committee who will not be compromised by a state or federal government job.

· That I will serve the interests of all Republicans, and believe that no one candidate or elected official should dominate the Republican Party. The MassGOP should serve all Republicans, elected officials, and activists, not the interests of any one person.

I am honored to accept the endorsement of MassResistance Founder Brian Camenker, who is a champion for families and life.

I am honored to accept the endorsement of Former Newton Mayoral Candidate Bill Heck, who is a champion for fiscal stewardship at all levels of government.

I am honored to accept the endorsement of Proposition 2½ Co-Founder Sam Robbins, winner of the Newton Republican Lifetime Achievement award in 2014.

I am honored to accept the endorsement of Newton City Councilor Jim Cote and his wife Albie. Jim is our lone Republican City Councilor and I would like to elect more Republicans like Jim on the council. We need a State Committeeman who continually opposes Setti Warren’s destructive left-wing Democrat agenda, not one who poses for pictures with him or likes his social media pages.

I am honored to accept the endorsement of over four dozen local community members because I am 100% beholden to you, the voters of the First Middlesex & Norfolk District.

On Tuesday, March 1, I’m asking for your vote to serve as Massachusetts Republican State Committee Man from the First Middlesex & Norfolk District in order to revitalize the Republican Party in Massachusetts. The nationwide resurgence in principled conservatism boosted the electoral prospects of Republicans at all levels nationwide and I say it’s time that Massachusetts Republicans restore principled conservatism to our party so we can win elections, break the Democrat Party’s dominance in state and local government and roll back the Democrat Party’s destructive policies.
