Katie Griffith for Wellesley Natural Resources Commission-- vote of March 6

Katie Griffith moved to Wellesley 10 years ago with her husband and 1-year-old daughter after completing her Ph.D. in salt marsh ecology. While raising her three kids (ages 4, 7, 10) she’s engaged the town in a series of hands-on workshops in plant science at the Wellesley College Botanic Gardens, several of the Wellesley elementary schools, and at the STEM EXPO. After being elected as a Town Meeting Member last year, she was inspired to deepen her involvement in Wellesley’s town government. Now she is running for a seat on the Wellesley Natural Resources Commission to combine her interest in government with her background in ecology. If elected, Katie’s collaborative approach to decision-making and experience as a Town Meeting Member will be an asset as we consider how to manage our town forests, our recreational spaces, and the North 40.
