LINX Camps STEAMS Up with Regis

LINX Camps of Wellesley moves some of its STEAM and Performing Arts camps to Regis for Summer 2017

WELLESLEY, MA – November 9th – LINX Camps of Wellesley announces the move of some of its STEAM and Performing Arts camps (ages 2nd grade and up) focusing on art, movie making, science and technology, to Regis, a Catholic university in Weston, in 2017.

Teaming up with Regis is LINX’s answer to the growing demand for its STEAM camp programs while keeping the small camper group experience families have grown to love and expect. LINX campers will benefit by using Regis’ state-of-the-art facility. While most of the camp day for these programs will take place at Regis, the location for opening and closing ceremonies and outdoor activities will remain unchanged, at Dana Hall, to keep with the camp’s founding principle of inclusion and camp unity.

"We are thrilled to be hosting LINX Camps in keeping with our commitment to promote STEM Education K-16," said Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN, president of Regis.

LINX Owner and Founder Joseph Kahn said, “We are excited to be working together with Regis. Our STEAM camps support the shared goal of LINX and Regis to promote quality programs for children who want to pursue their interests in these highly specialized areas. Our camps provide an exceptional opportunity for kids to learn, develop new skills, and have fun.”

The state-of-the-art labs at Regis will allow for the highest quality of STEAM camps possible in a small group setting, with newly renovated science labs, professional viewing theater for movie making camp, and a/v equipment for the coding and gaming app camps. Additionally, campers in the technology programs will now get daily swim lessons and free swim time in Regis’ regulation-sized swimming pool.

LINX Camps Vice President Josh Schiering stated, “This is a clear example of how our growing, widely popular camp remains small in the areas that matter the most to families. While everyone is part of a larger camp community that centers around inclusion, kindness and respect, we’re able to break apart into everybody’s common interests for a much more individualized and intimate camp experience. Our programs are enhanced by a consistent daily and weekly structured schedule, led by our caring and nurturing staff. This is what metro west families have expected from us since 2009 and why they come back every year.”

70% of the camps will continue to take place at Dana Hall and all camp parents will continue to enjoy Dana Hall as the convenient drop-off and pick-up location. All camps boast a 1:5 adult/child ratio at all times, and a healthy nut free lunch plan. Each campus is about 5 miles from one another, making transportation easy.

Serving Metro West, LINX is now in its eleventh year of operation. The main office is located at 141 Linden Street in Wellesley, MA. For more information about LINX Camps and to register, visit http://www.linxcamps.com or call 781-235-3210.
