LINX Dance Students Win Awards at First Competition of 2016

LINX Dance students of Wellesley won awards in the International Dance Challenge at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium Jan 30 - 31st.

Lowell, MA – February 17 – LINX Dance students of Wellesley won a number of awards during their first time competing in the International Dance Challenge at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA on January 30th and 31st, 2016.

“I am so proud of all of our dancers from the weekend. They worked so hard and accomplished so much. Our first competition started off the season right and the girls and teachers are super excited for the rest of our competitions,” said LINX Dance Director Heather Emley. Emley added that 11 dancer soloists were invited to compete in Nationals, and LINX’s junior small group tap was invited to compete for Entertainment Showdown.

Students from 13 dance schools in 3rd through 9th grade participated in the competition.

LINX Dance placed 1st, 3rd and 5th for teen solo, and 1st and 2nd for duo/trio. The dancers took 2nd place for overall scoring teen routine for the weekend. Additionally, Emley received the Outstanding Choreography award at the event.

LINX is now in its tenth year of operation providing fun-based classes and camps that specialize in dance, theater, sports and early childhood programming.
