LINX Science Campers Build Bridges and STEM Skills

Wellesley, MA – August 5, 2016 – LINX science campers had fun working together to design and build a functional 5-foot bridge during their weeklong enrichment camp session at the Dana Hall campus in Wellesley in early July.
After a practice run making 18-inch bridges between desks, using only straws and paperclips, the kids were ready to take on the challenge of making a popsicle stick bridge that could span a 5-foot kiddie pool and support the crossing of a remotely controlled toy car.
The campers worked together as a team to come up with the idea of a double arched bridge design and successfully set their plan to action. The road on top of the bridge consisted of paint stir sticks, which were wisely also used for the railing.
