LINX Voice Students Perform Songs for Seniors at the Wingate Residences
Wellesley, MA – February 8, 2016 – LINX voice students performed at the pleasure of residents and their families on January 22nd at the Wingate Residences in Needham, MA.
LINX Theater and Voice Instructor Katie Schiering enjoys traveling to different area assisted living residences, to benefit the seniors as well as the children. “The young singers bring so much joy to the residents and the kids love performing for them. They never want to stop singing and could sing encores all day if they had the chance!”

Many of the residents were talking directly to the kids (age 5 years to 1st grade), before and after the show, asking how old they were and congratulating them on their performance.
“After the kids sang their set, they were asked by a nurse if they could sing again upstairs for a resident that was so upset she couldn’t make it down in time for the show. The kids traveled upstairs without hesitation and sang an encore song for the resident. The resident was so excited, tapping her toes and waving her hands around to the music!” said Schiering.
