Madeleine Albright Says She Is 'Ready To Register' As Muslim
Former secretary of state and Wellesley grad tweeted she's ready to register as Muslim in solidarity as Trump prepares an executive order.
WELLESLEY, MA – Ahead of President Donald Trump's expected action against immigrants from several predominantly Muslim nations, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright pledged to make a defiant show of solidarity with Islamic citizens.
It is anticipated the president will sign another executive order as soon as Thursday blocking visas from nations such as Iraq, Syria, Iran and Libya for at least 30 days, according to the Associated Press. The order is also expected to put an indefinite freeze on Syrian arrivals.
Trump also floated a so-called "Muslim registry" in the past, though it is unclear if he plans to rope that in with the immigration suspension or enact it at all.

But Albright? She's "ready to register" as Muslim.
The Wellesley grad has famously opposed Trump on several of his more controversial stances, and she fired off a couple of tweets Wednesday in support of refugees.

"There is no fine print on the Statue of Liberty," Albright wrote. "America must remain open to people of all faiths and backgrounds #RefugeesWelcome."
She followed it up by saying after years of identifying as a member of various faiths, she would register as Muslim in a show of solidarity if that proposal became real:
I was raised Catholic, became Episcopalian & found out later my family was Jewish. I stand ready to register as Muslim in #solidarity.
