WELLESLEY, MA — A Dorchester man was arrested last week after stealing a car from his girlfriend's roommate, police said. Esteban Rivera, 26, was charged with motor vehicle theft, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, malicious damage of property, receiving stolen credit cards, and class B drug possession.
Around 3 p.m., on April 15, a woman called police and reported her Nissan Sentra stolen. She told police she gave her roommate permission to use the car the previous day, but never gave permission for Rivera or his girlfriend to use the car the next day.
The woman called her roommate, who told her the car would be returned by 3 p.m., police said. When the car wasn't returned, the woman called Wellesley police.
