Marijuana Bust, Middle School Graffiti: Wellesley Police Log

Police said someone vandalized the climbing wall at Wellesley Middle School with graffiti.

WELLESLEY, MA — Each day, the Wellesley Police Department receives a dozen calls . Here is a sample of these types of calls they responded to between Monday, July 15 and Sunday, July 21. The log includes a report of a speeding driver being caught with large amounts of marijuana and vandalism at Wellesley Middle School. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

4:35 a.m. - Jamal Pierre, 28, of Framingham was arrested and charged with failure to stop for a police officer while operating a motor vehicle, speeding, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Police said Pierre was driving 80 mph in a 50 mph zone on Worcester Street. An officer tried to pull him over, but Pierre continued driving into Natick making sudden turns onto Centre Street and Paul Street, police said. Pierre eventually stopped near Manor Avenue. Police said Pierre wasn't able to give a good reason for making the turns and refusing to stop, so he was taken into custody. Officers searched the vehicle and said they found a large amount of marijuana, a scale, and plastic bags.

6:50 p.m. - Phillipjon Hotz, 39, of Everret was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Incidents

July 15

2:41 p.m. - A staff member at Wellesley Middle School called police after finding graffiti and trash near the ropes challenge course. There was graffiti on both sides of the 12 foot wall that is part of the adventure course. The graffiti will likely have to be painted over. There are no suspects and officers will make extra checks of the area.

1:24 p.m. - Police were called to a house on Lowell Road for a report of a home break-in. There was forced entry through a door to gain access to the house. Many areas of the home had been rummaged through.

1:33 p.m. - Police were called to Lake Waban for a report of a woman in the lake who needed help. Officers learned that the woman had a dog that chased some birds onto the water and she was attempting to get her dog, but was not in distress.

July 18

7:09 p.m. - A woman came into the police station to report her identity stolen. She said she received a message from LifeLock that a bank account was opened using her personal information. There are no suspects at this time.

July 19

8 a.m. - A man came into the police station and reported someone had made two purchases using his debt card information in Connecticut. He still had possession of his debit card. There are no suspects at this time.

July 20

11:57 p.m. - Police spoke to a woman who said a diamond fell out of her engagement rink the previous day between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. She had been to several places in Wellesley during that time frame and is following up with each store and location to see if the diamond was found.

July 21

11:36 a.m. Police were called to a house on Cliff Road for a report of a home break-in. Several rooms in the house had been rummaged through and items were taken. There did not appear to be any forced entry into the home.

7 p.m. Police were called to a house on Cliff Road for a report of a home break-in. The homeowner said he received a call from the alarm company around 11:30 a.m. Upon looking at the window where the alarm signal came from it appears someone had attempted to pry it open. Police said it didn't look like anyone got inside the house and nothing was taken.
