Learn about what makes the French piano repertoire “French,” through the works of Fauré, Ravel, and Debussy, at the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries with pianist and scholar Roy Howat.

One of few British artists repeatedly invited to teach and play French music at major French-speaking conservatoires and on French radio, Howat has delivered lectures and master classes worldwide at venues including at the Juilliard and Eastman schools of music. He has also conducted professionally, played violin in major London chamber orchestras, and held university posts in several countries. He is currently the keyboard research fellow at the Royal Academy of Music, London, and research fellow at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow.
