Multiple Incidents Of Former Employee Harassment in Wellesley: Police Logs

The following are excerpts from the Wellesley Police log for July 17 to July 21, 2017.

WELLESLEY, MA — The following are excerpts from the Wellesley police log for July 17 to July 21, 2017. The log is public record and available for review. These are just some of the types of calls the Wellesley Police respond to. All are presumed innocent unless found guilty in a court of law. Monday, July 17

That's not yours: 11:22 a.m. A woman told police she was outside of a client’s home on Seaver Street because the client had taken a piece of personal property from her office in Brookline earlier in the day. The police officer spoke with the woman inside who initially denied taking the property, but later admitted she had it in her possession and provided it to the officer to return to the woman who reported it missing. The police officer told the reporting party if she no longer wished to conduct business with the other woman it was probably best to send her a written letter indicating such.

Homeless in Wellesley? 2:17 p.m. Police got a call about possibly homeless woman sleeping on cement slabs behind one of the office buildings on Washington Street in the lower falls. Police determined the woman was from a Wellesley Housing Authority Property and she safely returned to her residence.

Tuesday, July 18

Watch out for scams: 3:10 p.m. Someone reported there was an incident of fraud at a business on William Street.

Wednesday, July 19

Fraud: 1:04 p.m. Someone at the CVS Pharmacy on Linden Street reported an incident of a fraudulent prescription that had been passed on July 1st at the pharmacy. The pharmacist had been notified by a Drug Enforcement Agent that the prescription was fraudulent.

Friday, July 21

Be kind to your neighbor: 1:30 p.m. A The reporting party stated that he is developing a property on Sturbridge Road and a neighbor was confrontational with his contractors that morning and demanded that they not start to work until 8 a.m. The reporting party indicated that his contractor advised the neighbor that they by-law stated they could begin their work at 7 a.m. and he demanded that they wait until 8 to begin. Officer D’Innocenzo later spoke with the neighbor by phone and he denied being confrontational and requested that they be required to begin work at 8 a.m. instead of 7 a.m. He was advised that the contractors can begin at 7:00 a.m., but if they begin earlier than that to notify the police department.

Stolen bike? 3:38 p.m. A Weston Road resident called about a missing bike.

Employee harassment: 2:50 p.m. A man and a woman came into the police station to talk about an issue they were having with a former employee that was harassing them after he was fired. Police told them how to get a harassment prevention order and draft a formal letter of termination indicating that the employee is no longer welcome to contact them would make it clear that they wished to terminate all communication.

Drunk: 6:52 p.m. Someone called to report someone who looked pretty drunk sitting on the stairs next to the train station near Central Street by Crest Road. Police gave him a ride back home and told him it might not be a good idea to go out walking while drunk that evening.

Threats: 10:00 p.m. Someone came into the police station to report an issue with a former employee. The reporting party stated that the former employee had made threats against several people in the Boston-based company and two of the employees reside in Wellesley. Those employees do not currently have harassment prevention orders against the former employee. He wanted to make us aware of the issue in case the employee attempted to contact either of them at their homes. If the former employee attempts to do so the police department will be notified.

Saturday, July 22

Found: 10:55 a.m. Police assisted the Natick Police Department by finding a man they were looking for at a local business on Worcester Street. Natick Police then took him into custody.

Whose fault?: 11:55 p.m. Someone called to report there was an argument happening on Park Avenue. When police arrived they found out that the two had taken an Uber home from Boston but were dropped off at the wrong location and it turned into an argument between them.

Sunday, July 23

Not so sneaky: 12:15 a.m. Someone called to report it sounded like fireworks were going off somewhere near Martin Road. While en route to investigate, an officer saw a group of young guys carrying two cases of beer walking and he asked if they had been setting off fireworks or if they had heard any. They indicated they had heard some at Wellesley College earlier, but they had not set any off. After the officer found some beer cans and sparklers a short distance away, he went back and spoke with the group who then admitted they had set off some sparklers and he advised them to clean up the trash they had left behind and they agreed to do so. They indicated there was no additional trash and they were informed if he later located any fireworks or trash he would issue them a town by-law citation for littering. At 6:30 a.m. he was dispatched to Kelly Field for discarded fireworks and empty beer cans and bottles. The brands of beer were the same that the young men had earlier in the morning. He mailed them town by-law citations for littering.

Fired: 4:12 p.m. A Cottage Street resident called to report they'd fired someone but that person refused to leave the premises. An officer told the fired person to leave and if she was disputing payment for services that was a civil matter. The officer talked to the family at the home about the issue and provided them with contact information for the Counsel of Aging should they want to request their assistance.
