Nearly Half the Employees at Former Sun Life Lose Jobs After New Company Outsources

Nearly 150 employees of Delaware Life in Wellesley will be unemployed.

This week, employees at Delaware Life in Wellesley learned that nearly 150 of them would be losing their jobs, reported the Boston Business Journal.

Delaware Life was formerly Sun Life Financial, and employees who transferred over to Delaware Life knew that job cuts would be on the horizon because of the owner’s decision to outsource. The job cuts, which were relayed to the Division of Career Services, counts for about half of the employees at Delaware Life.

Delaware Life provides annuity and life insurance products across the United States, with its headquarters at 96 Worcester St. (Route 9) in Wellesley Hills.
