One Injured After Car Crashes Into Home in Wellesley

The car drove through the fence of the backyard and struck a house, police said.

WELLESLEY, MA – Police in Wellesley are investigating a one-car crash on Parker Road that resulted in the vehicle colliding into a home.

According to police, a resident of the home reported the crash around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday morning and told officers a car had crashed through their fence, driven through their backyard and struck the house.

Police arrived and found the driver parked in a driveway on Brookmere Road. The driver appeared to have minor injuries and was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

A preliminary investigation indicates the driver was backing out of a driveway on Brookmere Road, lost control and drove through the wood fence, coming to a stop at the rear of the house on Parker Road, according to police. Brookmere and Parker run parallel to each other.

The driver then pulled forward and drove into his driveway, which is where he was when officers arrived, police said.

The home was damaged, and the Wellesley Building Department is conducting a precautionary inspection. No one inside the house was injured, police said.

The crash is currently under investigation.
