SUV Drives Into Pond In Wellesley
"The driver was unfamiliar with the area and unfortunately attempted to stop too late and slid down the embankment," Lt. Cleary said.
WELLESLEY, MA — An SUV drove into an icy pond inside the office park on William Street Thursday morning, police said.
According to police, the driver was driving through the office park around 9 a.m., when he ended up driving into the pond.
"The driver was unfamiliar with the area and unfortunately attempted to stop too late and slid down the embankment," Police Lt. Marie Cleary said.

The pond was about five feet deep, but the driver was able to climb out of the SUV on his own. Police said he didn't suffer any injuries.
It was difficult for the towing company to get the SUV out of the pond, Cleary said.
