Talk and Taste Continues With The Tomato

BCAE, Mass Hort and the Human Nutrition Research Center of Aging Continues Year-Long Superfood Series with the Tomato

(BOSTON, MA) – The Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE) is teaming up with the Massachusetts Horticultural Society (Mass Hort) and the Jean Mayer USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging (HNRCA) to continue its superfood talk and taste series. The year-long series of talks discuss various super foods with surprising effects on the mind and body. This merging of the culinary and scientific fields will educate guests about all facets of four super foods (tomatoes, herbs and mushrooms) including growing, picking, and cooking with these powerful ingredients.

On Tuesday, September 15th, 2015 from 6:00PM—7:30PM join Hannah Traggis, Diane Manteca and Xiang-Dong Wang, as they lead the conversation on all things tomato. Follow its amazing journey from garden to table and pick up some juicy information along the way. The Massachusetts Horticultural Society will open their 36-acre estate for an optional informational tour of their Elm Bank Gardens prior to the Talk and Taste session from 4:30PM-5:45PM. At 6:00PM the group will convene for a lively and informative session that will feature great tips about planting, growing and harvesting the tomato. Students will also have the opportunity to add some delicious new recipes to their repertoire and learn about the nutritional benefits of this bona fide superfood.
