Tom Masiello Receives Benchmark's Darrell Harvey Values Award

Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management Honored for Best Modeling Company Values

Benchmark, a human connection company and leading provider of senior living services in the Northeast, today announced that Thomas Masiello, vice president of enterprise risk management, has received the Benchmark Darrell Harvey Values Award for 2018.

At Benchmark’s 17th Annual Awards Gala held on March 28, 2019, Masiello was selected out of all the company’s 6,400 associates for not only setting a high bar for the company’s values but also raising it. The award is named for long-time investor and member of Benchmark’s board of advisors, Darrell Harvey of Stamford, Conn., who was the award’s first recipient in 2017.

Throughout Masiello’s six-year tenure at Benchmark, he has used his skill set, training, positivity and respect to help every area of Benchmark operate better. “I’m honored to be part of a talented team of people who care deeply about understanding others,” says Masiello. “The work our associates do is very special – making powerful connections with residents and their families and improving their lives at a time when they’re often most vulnerable.”

Masiello came to Benchmark in 2013 to experience greater purpose and fulfillment in his work. He had a 20-year career as the director of risk management for Cumberland Farms/Gulf Oil, served as litigation counsel and risk manager for HUD at the Boston Housing Authority, and was in house counsel for American International Group. He lives in Wellesley, Mass., with his wife and two sons.

“I am so grateful for the work that Tom and his team do every single day to elevate human connection,” says Tom Grape, founder, chairman and CEO of Benchmark. “Our annual awards gala is the highlight of my year because it’s an opportunity for all of us to come together to celebrate our communities and associates who sincerely live our company mission, vision and values. This year’s award winners are truly exemplary, and I could not be prouder of all we have accomplished together.”
