Town Publishes FAQ Memo on Potential St. James Acquisition

Katherine Babson, member of the board of selectmen, said copies of the FAQ sheet will be made available today online at the library.

As the town readies itself for a special town meeting to determine whether Wellesley will purchase the property at 900 Worcester St. it will make available a frequently asked questions memo about the situation, which involves the closed church.

Katherine Babson, member of the board of selectmen, said the four-page memo, which will cover the basics of the potential , will be made available today at the and at the town’s website.

“We encourage people to take a look at those,” she said at a meeting Monday.

Babson said graphics of the site that show the plan for the recreation center to be built on the property will be displayed as well.

Parishioners of the church have recently filed the to keep the church open. All prior appeals have been denied. The church has been closed since 2004.

The special town meeting to determine whether the town officially opts to buy the property is June 13.
