UPDATED: Town-Wide Boil Water Notice in Effect for Wellesley
One of the town's reservoirs tested positive for E. coli.

Early in the afternoon on Thursday, Aug. 21, the Wellesley Water Department issued a town-wide boil water notice, following a positive E. coli test at one of the town’s reservoirs.

Until further notice, all Wellesley Water customer should boil all tap water used for drinking, food preparation, tooth brushing and ice. Boil the water for at least one minute.
The Water Department is investigating the source of the contamination in consultation with officials at the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.
