Traffic Alert: Oakland Street Crossing At Rt 9 Closed, Expect Delays
Wellesley Police said there's a new traffic light going in.

WELLESLEY, MA — If the Oakland Street crossing at Rt. 9 is on your regular morning commute, on Wednesday morning - heck, all day today - you might want to consider staying away if you can.
Wellesley Police say a new traffic light is being installed there between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and the Oakland Street route that crosses at Route 9 will be closed for it. In fact, Route 9 is down to one lane Eastbound, too.
This comes after MassDOT announced a $7 million project to repair and improve Route 9 throughout the town of Wellesley this past Spring involving resurfacing, roadway repairs and related work to be completed in the fall.
