Turkey Trot Registration Opens July 1

WELLESLEY, MA - Thanksgiving might be months away, but residents have already begun planning for this year's Turkey Trot.

According to multiple local news outlets, registration for this year's 5K will open on July 1.

The Wellesley Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run is an annual race held by the Wellesley Turkey Trot Foundation, a non-profit established to engage the community in physical fitness and raise funds for local charities in the areas of cancer, education and community service.

The organization is also looking for local charities to be considered as beneficiaries for this year's race. Last year's beneficiaries were the Wellesley Cancer Prevention Project, Wellesley Education Foundation (WEF), Wellesley Field Fund and The Fund; the race was also supported by Bank of America.

Over the past two years, the Wellesley Turkey Trot Foundation has donated more than $137,000 to local nonprofits, according to the Wellesley Townsman.

This year's race will be held Thursday, Nov. 24 at 8 a.m. To register, visit wellesleyturkeytrot.racewire.com starting July 1.
