WELLESLEY, MA - On Monday, May 9 volunteers converged on Woodlawn Cemetery to help replace the flags on veterans' graves.

Those involved in organizing the event - the Department of Veterans' Services, the Wellesley Veterans' Organizations and the families of veterans buried at the cemetery - expressed their gratitude Tuesday:

On behalf of the Department of Veterans’ Services, the Wellesley Veterans’ Organizations and the families of Veterans buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery, I would like to thank everyone who volunteered on Monday, May 9th to join us in replacing the United States Flags on the Veterans graves.

It was thoughtful of you to take the time out of your personal schedule to help us at the cemetery. I would like you to know that your efforts were greatly appreciated and have contributed significantly to our most solemn and patriotic holiday.

Again, please accept our gratitude and thanks for taking the time to assist in replacing the United States Flags on Veterans’ graves. If you have any comments or suggestions regarding our flag replacement procedures, please contact our office at 781-489-7509.
