WBZ’s Chief Meteorologist Eric Fisher Discussed the Recent Macro Burst with LINX Science Campers
Eric Fisher joined the fun at LINX Camps to share his insight with science campers after recent macro burst storm in Wellesley.

Wellesley, MA – July 26, 2016 – WBZ’s Chief Meteorologist, Eric Fisher, joined in on the fun at LINX Camps on Wednesday, July 20th to share his insight and expertise with science campers on the heels of the recent macro burst two days earlier, which severely hit the Wellesley area.
Fisher talked about the weather and his life as a forecaster. The campers were full of questions and ready to share their knowledge. According to camp staff, a young scientist asked, “What do you call a storm like that?” “A micro burst!” answered another. “I think it was a macro burst!” answered a third. The enthusiastic meteorologist agreed with the last response and explained the difference between the two. He went on to talk about rain, hail, cloud formations, tornadoes and hurricanes. He shared that he had always wanted to be a meteorologist ever since he was in grade school and encouraged everyone to follow his or her dreams as he had. Finally, he reminded the gathering to always respect nature’s forces and stay safe.
According to science camp supervisor Carissa Chamney, “The campers have been doing weather related science activities the last few days so they were happy to have Eric there to answer all of their questions. It was also very helpful to have him there after the macro burst storm to provide a true explanation of what they witnessed.”
