Wellesley: A Shopper's Paradise

There were too many boutiques to choose from, below is a list of five.

Wellesley has terrific shopping. There is everything you could ever need along just a few streets. Though some of it tips toward high-end pricing, all of it is of high quality.

This week, Patch Picks pays homage to five unique shopping havens in Wellesley.

  • – This art boutique has modern written all over it. Not only does the shop have plenty of interesting pieces of art (some functional, others simply enjoyable), Art of Tile & Stone routinely holds classes and lectures on everything from healthy eating to craft making.
  • – Though technically a tailor, Tamara Kanevsky has turned her decades-old Wellesley Hills shop into a real-life page from Wellesley’s history. Everything in her small store is delicate and old. The prize possession: a turn of the century cash register that sits proudly in the middle of the room.
  • – With some of the best real estate in town, European Manor is home to all sorts of antique furniture, lamps and paintings. The downtown Washington Street store is cluttered with chairs, dressers and wall hangings, and is staffed with workers who know about every nook and cranny in the store.
  • – The answer to the across the street, Abigail’s Children’s Boutique carries clothes for children in a playful, bright environment at the end of Central Street in Washington Square.
  • – Located at the side entrance to Linden Square, French Lessons has a fresh feel. Though the store specializes in mostly women’s apparel, there are some rather solid buys hiding toward the back for men.
