Wellesley Among America's Safest Cities in 2017
Neighborhood Scout recently ranked Newton as one of the safest cities in the state and the nation.

WELLESLEY, MA — Website Neighborhood Scout recently released its list of the 100 Safest Cities in America for 2017, and Wellesley was among 21 Massachusetts communities to make the cut.
According to Neighborhood Scout's data, there are 0.86 violent crimes per 1,000 residents annually in Wellesley, and 9.1 property crimes per 1,000 residents. Both figures are significantly lower than the violent and property crime rates nationally and statewide.
Neighborhood Scout reported that you have a 1 in 1,160 chance of falling victim to a violent crime in Wellesley, and a 1 in 110 chance of becoming a victim of property crime.

Wellesley ranked 67th nationally, behind Newton at No. 66 and Arlington at No. 65.
Neighborhood Scout's data ranks the 100 safest cities in America with 25,000 or more people. The rankings are based on the total number of property and violent crimes per 1,000 residents.
