Wellesley Arrests: OUI Charge After Hit & Run; Drug Possession

From drunken drivers to a traffic stop turned drug arrest, Wellesley police had their hands full last week.

WELLESLEY, MA — Last week kept Wellesley police busy as the holiday season got off to a bumpy start. Two arrests were made as a result of traffic violations. Both cases involved drugs or alcohol, according to police.

On Monday, police were called to Worcester Street for reports about an erratic driver. A caller said they saw a car swerving in and out of the road and watched the car hit another car in the left lane, and continue driving, according to police. The car was found on Arnold Road — police said the driver smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech. When she exited the car she had trouble balancing and appeared confused, according to police.

The driver said she didn't hit the car on Worcester Street. She was taken into custody and later released on personal recognizance.
