Wellesley Chamber of Commerce Hosts Golf Open

Portion of proceeds go to Wellesley Education Foundation.

The Wellesley Chamber of Commerce held its annual Golf Open at Wellesley Country Club Monday, drawing golf enthusiasts for a day of golf ending with a raffle, putt for cash contest, silent auction and hors d'oeuvres in a refreshingly air conditioned lounge.

The event started with registration at 11 a.m. and ended at about 7:30 p.m. Monday night. Lead sponsor for the open was Sun Life Financial of One Sun Life Executive Park, Wellesley, along with JT Fleming & Company real estate and Alexander Aaronson and Finning CPAs.

After the tournament, there was an awards ceremony at 7 p.m., beginning with a putt for cash contest with three contestants: Drew Niziak, Tom Hammond and Cathy Iovanni. None of the three made the shot, which would have won $5,000, but they each received prizes nonetheless.
