Wellesley Girls Hockey To Play For Division Championship

The Raiders will battle the Cougars on Sunday, March 20.

WELLESLEY, MA - Having fought its way through a winning season and three rounds of tournament play, the Wellesley High girls hockey team will duke it out with Notre Dame Academy Sunday for the championship.

The Raiders came into the MIAA Division 2 Tournament with a 15-2-2 record, earning them a bye in the preliminary round. They were unstoppable in the first and second rounds, not allowing a single point from their opponents, but faced a grueling contest in their 3-2 over Plymouth in the semi-finals.

Notre Dame Academy enters the game as underdogs; however, the Cougars have blown out a higher-ranked opponent before. In the semi-finals they won big against Matignon, 9-3.
